IIT to Andhra

After a series of continuous efforts from the sate an IIT has been granted, which will be the Eighth in the country.Along with AP, Rajasthan and Bihar also bagged one each.These will be part of the 11Th Five Year Plan beginning April next year.The campus will be ready in the next three years with an investment of 1800 crores.Meanwhile the HRD ministry has requested the State Government to identify about 600 acres land free of cost with physical and social infrastructure including rail, road and air connectivity.State Government has identified few places in the Medak district , owing to its proximity to the Hyderabad and availability of the water resources.Also, establishing a institution of IIT standard will provide better scope for the development of the Medak district.On the other hand to the plug the loss of IIT by Adilabad district [which has connectivity issue] , state government is promising to establish a Gurukulam in the Temple town of Basar ,that will train 250 odd people in the IT area.
